Bodega Project

BODEGALAND was proposed by filmmaker/educator Ché Chisholm and theatre artist/educator Louisa Thompson as an outdoor stage and installation that would be a hub of connection and activity.

The construct will include a stage set of a NYC Bodega interior, a well-loved landmark and community hub. On this stage, BODEGALAND will present new work for an all age audience and create a documentary to raise awareness of the role that the Bodega plays in the fabric of our urban communities.

Bodegaland will collaborate and investigate the spirit of these NYC Small Businesses, paying special attention to immigrant owners and the cross-cultural nature of bodegas.
