Lobby Installation for Max Makes A Million
ALLIANCE THEATRE
June 20–July 21, 2019
Max Makes a Million is produced in collaboration with the High Museum of Art’s exhibition, The Pursuit of Everything: Maira Kalman’s Books for Children.
Materials Depot
Materials Depot was designed at Brooklyn Arbor PS414 to support activities in the classroom by providing a storeroom of materials that might otherwise end up in our trash. The project empowers students to be “makers,” builds community ties, and fosters a respect for the environment.
HANDS-ON LEARNING: A well-stocked room of materials supports teachers as they develop creative, hands-on learning projects that reinforce and build on lessons in all subject areas.
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP: Re-using materials reduces trash generated, promotes recycling, and encourages children rethink notions of waste and possibility.
COMMUNITY BUILDING: Children, families, neighbors and businesses can support creation by donating excess supplies to artists and helping develop projects for students.
HELP THE SCHOOL BUDGET: The Materials Depot helps lessen the financial burden on teachers by providing them with repurposed supplies.
